With my training and knowledge as a FasterEFT practitioner, as well as years of reading and learning alternative health and healing modalities, it’s my belief that physical pain or discomfort is usually a result of emotional stress. This can eventually lead to chronic illness and disease if it isn’t addressed.

Addressing and releasing our emotional baggage is the key to physical and emotional health and wellbeing.

Modern medical practice often discounts this theory, the medical and pharmaceutical industries promote the belief that physical pain or discomforts are usually indications that illness or disease  has already manifested in the body.

My belief is that pain and discomfort is your body’s way of saying something needs to change. Understanding the emotional meanings behind illness and disease provides us with a clue as to what may be going on within us.

In my own experiences, I know that when a physical problem persists, it is my body telling me to take notice and make some changes, either with my lifestyle or with my emotions and mindset.

One of the many books I subscribe to is “The Secret Language of your Body” by Inna Segal. I’ll list here some of the interpretations of common symptoms from the book –

COMMON AILMENTS

ARTHRITIS – Holding onto anger and resentment from the past. Carrying guilt, remorse and shame. Difficulty in forgiving self and others. Complaining about life. Worrying, but not wanting to make changes. Feeling stuck and limited.

ASTHMA – Trying too hard to please others. Wanting to be perfect. Difficulty in saying no, standing up for yourself and expressing how you feel. Pushing yourself to the limit until you feel exhausted and out of breath. Feeling week, anxious and disempowered. Allowing others to control you. Feeling hurt, stuck, caged.

ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER (ADHD/ADD) – Difficulty concentrating, paying attention, boredom, frustration, aggression. Not knowing how to share or communicate feelings. Feeling trapped. Feeling you are forced to do what you don’t want to do and what doesn’t interest you.

BACTERIAL INFECTION – Feeling weak, easily affected by others, needy. Desiring attention at any cost. Feeling infuriated, frustrated, irritated. Keeping things inside instead of sharing, letting go and creating change.

BLEPHARITIS (inflammation of eyelid/s) – Frustration, anger, internal conflict. Difficulty protecting and backing yourself. Doubting, and changing your mind depending on what you see, instead of what you feel and know.

BULIMIA – Difficulty in receiving love and nourishment. Constant self-criticism, guilt and self-sabotage. Trying to control situations. Using food to push problems down, instead of facing them.

BURSITIS – Feeling stuck in a pattern. Difficulty getting out of your comfort zone. Overwhelmed by fear and all there is to do in order to move forward. Feeling bored, dissatisfied, angry and uninspired. Carrying an internal conflict which is eating away at you. Loss of direction, feeling powerless.

You may notice I’ve only just started, there are pages and pages of symptoms from A-Z .

These suggestions may resonate with you, or they may not, they are just possibilities of what they often mean to people in general. I encourage you to be open-minded and willing to explore.

There are many influences and reasons behind a person’s health issues, so it’s up to you to interpret what your own symptoms may be trying to tell you, or what lesson you may need to learn from it. Also these meanings are not meant to discount the fact that your body may have real physical healing that needs to take place.

I suggest you sit quietly tune into your pain or symptom and ask yourself “What is this illness/ailment telling me,” you already know.

Hopefully these suggestions will help you gain a general understanding of what the disease could mean, which you can then use as a jumping off point for your own inner exploration.

SO WHAT NEXT?

Remember, these are just some possibilities of what these illnesses could be trying to tell you about your life, what is happening today and possibly connected to what you experienced in the past.

What I’d hope you to gain from this blog is an awareness that illness is multi-dimensional and very complex, caused by physical, mental, and emotional pain.

If an explanation listed here resonates with you and you’d like to explore this further, I’d be happy to chat and delve deeper into your issues.

It’s the emotional aspects and traveling deeper into illnesses and possible causes that I’m able to help people with.

You can always explore these symptoms on your own. Get in touch with what feelings or emotions these brought up for you, past experiences you could connect with your disease, or anything else that comes to mind.

By opening yourself up and exploring the past and present, is a great way to begin healing what you hold within. Releasing emotional baggage is the way to not only emotional wellbeing, but also physical health and wellbeing.

There are many good books about emotional healing. I recommend a couple of books by two of my mentors From Stress to Success by Kim Jewell; The FasterEFT Beginner’s handbook by Pam Wright and of course books by Inna Segal, The Secret Language of Your Body and The Secret of Life Wellness.

You are what you think, you are the creator of your own health and wellbeing. You have the ability to release and let go of all your emotional baggage, which will result in a happy and healthy mind and body.
